We are now offering our oak fire surrounds and floating mantles as kits, available for delivery ready to be installed. We offer two types of mantles, a floating mantle which is a single oak beam fixed to the wall above the fire, and a full oak fire surround, which is a mantle supported by two legs, all fixed to the wall.
As with all of our products, these are made to order and are therefore completely customisable. For anything non standard, please contact us and we will be happy to work with you to meet your needs.
On the full oak surrounds, the legs are secured to the wall, and the mantle piece itself is secured to the legs. This option allows for a wider shelf along the top as the oak beam is housed onto the legs and secured together.
These surrounds come with all the fixings required and oak plugs to conceal the fixings once assembly is completed.
These are solid oak surrounds and are therefore heavy, these should be fitted properly and securely by a competent person using the fixing kits supplied by us.
Our standard sizes are 120cm, 150cm and 180cm widths, with a standard overall height of 105cm. The unit can be customised to suit the opening which it is intended to surround.
As these are made to order, the gap between the legs can be made to your measurements, and the height can be made to suit your needs to. All you need to do is to give us the dimensions you require by adding it to the Order Notes on the checkout page, and we will do the rest.
The legs are made from 20cm x 10cm oak, and the top is made from 15cm x 10cm oak. These will likely develop splits as they dry out with the heat, giving that beautiful, aged character we all love.
